According to an article in industry trade magazine Prepared Food, whether you're a liberal or conservative will affect your food preferences. In Baltimore, we're much more likely to have liberal flavor preferences, though certain neighborhoods and zip codes -- including mine -- have more conservative track records. Makes you think about what kind of new restaurants should be going up and where!
Some liberal versus conservative food choices, as the article showed:
Liberals: thin crust pizza, vegetarians,bistro type fries, fresh veggies, toast or bagel for breakfast, crunchy tacos, likes beer, no soda, Pan Asian/French food is exotic fare.
Conservatives: McDonald's fries, cooked vegetables, no breakfast, soft tacos, regular soda, doesn't like the tastes of beer, Chinese takeout is more exotic.
Armed with this knowledge, you'll have a new understanding of why certain items are popular at area restaurants.
