At what point will our government and it's elected officials be held accountable? Very few problems are solved in Washington DC these days. It seems that more stagnation and obstacles to our nation's progress are now created in Washington, DC than solved. It's really mind boggling that we continue to put our faith and trust in a city that is mired in political stagnation. Most of the real problems in this country that we face will ultimately be solved in the micro-labs of democracy....the states. The people closest to the problems are usually the best equipped to solve them.
When will results be demanded and when will results versus intentions be the true litmus test?
Very little has been done in addressing the issue of our country's out of control spending, but now the focus is to reduce gun violence?
The fact that our politicians have FAILED us in regards to our National Debt is a HUGE issue that effects each and every American. Gun Violence on the other hand is really in the big picture of things that our country faces a much smaller problem, yet these days you'd think it was the primary concern facing all Americans. No that would be our National Debt!
Will passing more gun restrictions, laws and regulations really reduce violence? Will criminals, thugs and bad guys still be able to get guns? Who is REALLY going to suffer from more regulations and laws limiting access to firearms?
Governor Cuomo's quote prior to passing the strictest gun control laws in the country stated "Who needs an assault rifle to shoot a deer?" is a blatant disregard for the 2nd amendment of the constitution and is absolutely SHAMELESS!
The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting and I hope and pray that the good people of the state of New York will work to recall their Governor as he has trampled all over their rights and the constitution!!
New York State's actions are Treasonous! New Yorkers need to stand up and be vocal about this trampling of their 2nd Amendment rights. They need to speak up at the ballot box, with their wallets and their feet to make the Governor pay for his treasonous acts!
No Republican leaders joined him at the bill signing in the Capitol's ornate Red Room. And for the first time in the governor's tenure, he endured sustained, sometimes furious criticism from GOP lawmakers who said the laws were rushed through.
In a typical rush to judgement and knee jerk response to the Newtown Shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary and to essentially follow Rahm Emmanuel's policy of; "Never let a crisis go to waste", (VIDEO) Gov. Cuomo in his haste to trample the 2nd Amendment and pass these infringements forgot to include a clause for his own states law enforcement officers....too funny! What's NOT FUNNY is his complete and total disregard for the 2nd Amendment.
Gov. Cuomo has also been quoted that complete and total gun confiscation could be an option. Make NO MISTAKE about it if Gov. Cuomo and this administration had their way we would all be turning in our Guns! So now we see what their real intentions are. This should be a REAL EYE OPENER for Americans that an elected Governor would publicly make a statement like this in complete and total disregard of our 2nd Amendment Rights!

Let's take a closer look at how these same politicians like Gov. Cuomo are doing in running and managing their states. New York as a microcosim of what our country is facing with the debt crisis and our politicians mis-direction in actually solving problems that really should be their focus. The state has the 2nd highest "net tax supported debt" as percentage of GDP in country behind New Jersey. State and local government long-term debt as a share of GDP is highest in the nation. New York state's total unfunded liabilities as reported HERE is $300 billion!! Second only to California another gun grabbing state that has trampled all over the 2nd Amendment!

Hopefully the citizens of these 2 states (New York & California) will vote with their feet and move to states that recognize the importance of both fiscal responsibility and the rights enumerated in the constitution.
It is important as American's to hold our elected officials accountable for their actions.
Most American's would agree that our elected officials have failed us miserably on their fiscal discipline and appropriations in regards to effectively and efficiently running their state's economics.
Why would we expect their actions in regards to managing the laws and regulations effecting gun violence and public safety to be any better?
If their fiscal management skills are any indication we are entrusting our futures and our public safety to the wrong people!
