Just one day after President Obama's inauguration ceremony, the first trailer was released for the upcoming political thriller Olympus Has Fallen. On Tuesday, Jan. 22, iTunes Movie Trailers unveiled the trailer which tells the story of how the President of the United States is kidnapped inside the White House. The film takes its title from the Secret Service code name for the White House, which is Olympus. Check out the official trailer here.
Olympus Has Fallen explores how a terrorist organization is able to infiltrate the White House and take the president (Aaron Eckhart) hostage. Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is a former protector of the POTUS who ends up being the country's only hope to save the day and stop the threat before it's too late.
The action thriller from director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Shooter) features plenty of explosions, gun fire and of course heart pounding suspense. Set for theatrical release on March 22, 2013, the FilmDistrict picture includes an ensemble cast of Angela Bassett (Lynne Jacobs), Morgan Freeman (Speaker Trumbull), Ashley Judd (First Lady) and Rick Yune (Kang).
