Polish Fest Milwaukee an ethnic celebration June 19 to 21

Milwaukee Polish Fest will be held on the lakefront Summerfest Grounds, Henry A Maier Festival Park,  was selected one of the 2008 Top 100 Events in North America. The ethnic themed festival takes place from Friday, June 19 through Sunday, June 21.  Polish Fest is one of the many ethnics held on the Summerfest Grounds during the summer. The family friendly event Lake Michigan at Summerfest Grounds by Christine Nyholmoffers activities for kids and adults.

The Milwaukee Summerfest Festival grounds are located on the Lake Michigan waterfront, so visitors can enjoy the many available festivities and also enjoy relaxing view of one the Great Lakes.  Milwaukee, Wisconsin  is about 90 minutes from Chicago and about 60 minutes from much of Lake County, Illinois making it a fairly easy drive for a day excursion.
Polish Fest is a popular event for the Polish community and for the many people who are interested in the various cultures that make up America. The festival honors the culture of Poland with music, food, entertainment, Sukiennice Marketplace, a Chopin Youth Piano Competition, Polish Mass, Vodka Tastings and more.
Stages of Entertainment
Stages of entertainment include the Miller Contemporary Stage, Non-Stop Polka Stage, the Cultural Stage featuring Folk Dancing and Accordion Music, the Folk Stage and the Children’s Stage.
On Friday night at 10:30 there will be fireworks show lighting up the skies over the Milwaukee lakefront.
Polish Cultural Village
The 2009 Cultural Village features a special exhibit of the 13 World Heritage Sites recognized by UNESCO. The special exhibit features the cultural treasure of Krakow, Warsaw, the ancient Wielczka Salt Mine, the medieval city of Torun, the primeval Bialowieza Forest, the Renaissance town of Zamosc, wooden churches of southern Poland, the castle of Teutonic Knights in Malbork and the WWII Nazi concentration camp of Aschwitz-Birkenau.
The Cultural Village also features Milwaukee’s Lincoln Avenue, Poles on the Front Lines of WWII, Fold Arts, Genealogy, Art in the Market Square of Kazimerz Dolny, Polish Sheepdogs and a Polish Forum.
Sukiennice Marketplace
Sukiennice Marketplace features over 40 vendors offering colorful Polish products, such as jewelry, Amber, apparel, Polish Dolls, glass blown ornaments and more.
Festival Food
Festival food includes both American and Polish Specialties, so visitors can enjoy their favorites or sample some ethnic foods they made not have experienced before. Some of the Polish favorites include Krakus Polish Ham, Klement’s Polish Sausage, Pierogi, potato pancakes, Hunter’s Stew, mushroom soup and Paczki.
Admission Tickets
Polish Fest offers a number of different ways to save money on admission. Normal admission is $10, but on Friday afternoon you can get in for only 50 cents. Following is a listing of the ticket promotions from the Polish Fest website.

  • Senior (55+) $8
  • Children 15 and under: Free when with adult
  • Special Ticket Promotions
  • Friday, June 19 – Admission is only 50 cents from noon until 5 pm
  • Friday, June 19 – Admission is $5 from 5:01 until Midnight
  • All Weekend – Free Admission for US Military Personnel wearing a military uniform and presenting an active military I.D.
  • Friday – Free Admission from 5 – 6 pm when register to walk in the 3rd annual Easter Seals Walk with Me.
  • Friday – Free Admission with donation of two bags of new of gently used household items for Easter Seals
  • Saturday – Free from 8 pm to midnight with a donation of three or more food items to the hunger Task Force
  • Sunday - $4 Admission after attending the 10:15 am Polish Fest Mass
  • Sunday – Free Admission for Dads of all ages from 4 - 6 pm with accompanied by their child of any age
