Polina Edmunds makes Olympic debut; figure skater confident on ice (photos)

Polina Edmunds make figure skating look easy on Wednesday. The American athlete was the first of three Team USA stars to hit the ice in Sochi and go for the gold. Starting it off on the right foot, even the fans watching Polina in San Jose, California, where Edmunds is from, were excited to see the star dressed in her bright yellow costume and looking confident. According to the Sochi Olympics scores on Wednesday athlete got a strong score with 61.04.

Polina Edmunds has never been in a world championships, but she looked like an Olympian on the ice. The star seemed to be strong and had a fantastic start. So quick and full of energy, the performance was top-notch and exciting to watch. Add that her costume was beautiful and everyone is hoping this star makes it to the podium!

Concerns about the athlete were laid to rest as the skater was strong with the program. The performance gave her enough points to qualify for the free skate on Thursday and have American’s excited that perhaps she could medal at some point.
