On Saturday evening, the Pine Bluff Police Department of Little Rock, AR were called to a disturbance and upon arrival they discovered an aggravated assault against two people who were evacuated as a safety precaution. The police searched the home for the suspected assailant, Monroe Isadore, 107-years old. Reportedly, when police discovered the man hiding in the bedroom, he shot at them and as a result, SWAT was called in. A small camera determined Isadore was armed with a handgun inside the bedroom. Eventually, negotiations between the police and Isadore failed and the police fired tear gas grenades through a window into the bedroom and Isadore returned fire with gunshots. Moments later, the police breached the residence and using a distraction device in the bedroom, Isadore fired shots again. At which point, police shot and killed the man who lived to be over a century old.
After having lived for so many years, it could have been that he wanted to die but could not take his own life and engaged in a Suicide by Cop in which a person will aim an unloaded or loaded weapon at police or like this type of incident, engage in similar activity to cause the police to shoot and kill them.
