Cops: Mount Sinai man stabbed with ice pick

Suffolk County police are investigating after an ice pick was used during a stabbing Saturday evening at a home in Mount Sinai.

The incident occurred around 6:35 p.m. on Chestnut Street near Route 25A in Mount Sinai.

A police department spokesman said the victim -- whose identity was not released -- was stabbed with an ice pick. They suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.

A suspect was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody. No information as to the suspect's identity or possible charges was immediately released.
