St. Louis County SWAT officers were called to assist the Manchester Police with a man who barricaded himself in the home of 415 Auber Drive Wednesday evening. The incident began around 7:30 p.m. when the polce were dispatched to the home with reports of a suicidal individual with a loaded gun. When officer arrives, a female resident claimed that her ex boyfriend, 38 was suicidal and armed with a gun, barricaded in a bedroom. The Manchester Police Officers attempted to communicate with the subject. Reportedly, a military friend attempted to talk the suspect down from the outside the house behind the police cars.
At approximately 8:55 p.m., the Tact Unit arrived and, after talking to the subject on the phone, persuaded him to surrender. He was taken into custody by Manchester Officers at 9:15 p.m. and taken to a nearby hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Two fully-loaded guns with additional ammunition were seized during the incident.
The suspects name has not been released at this time.
