Police seek suspect in fatal shooting of teen in Hempstead

Nassau County police are searching for a suspect who shot and killed a 16-year-old boy in Hempstead late Friday night.

Hempstead Village Police were called around 11:50 p.m. Friday to respond to a home at 245 Bennett Ave., where they found the 16-year-old victim, Robert Brown, of Westbury, lying in the street in front of the home.

Brown, who suffered at least one gunshot wound, was taken to a local hospital and died shortly after 2 a.m.

Detectives are now asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
