Police on Long Island are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a bank in Commack on Tuesday.

Suffolk County Police say the suspect walked into the Bank of America branch on Veterans Highway in Commack at 11:35 a.m. and approached a teller with a note. Investigators said the teller complied with the man’s demand for cash and passed him an unspecified amount of money before he took off on foot.

Police, who suspect the man may be responsible for similar crimes, released his description Tuesday. He was described as a bald man, about 5-foot-10, between 30 and 35 years old, with a medium build and thin beard. He was last seen wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
