A massive police hunt began on Sept. 24, 2013, for Nevada teenager, Adrian Navarro-Canales, who is accused of killing his family, according to The Epoch Times.
The search for Adrian Navarro-Canales, 16, encompasses the entire nation, as well as the Mexican border.
He is accused of murdering his mother and younger brother, and then living with the “bloody bodies in the bathroom of their apartment,” reports the Times.
Authorities believe he killed the two a week ago, on Sept. 17, however, their bodies were not found for three days after relatives and the mother’s boyfriend called police, worried about whether Adrian, his mother, Elvira Canales-Gomez, 40, and younger brother, Cesar Navarro were okay.
The Times notes a police report indicates that Elvira was last seen driving home from work on Sept. 17 at around 3:40 p.m., and this was the last day Cesar attended school.
Adrian reportedly texted his father, Adrian Navarro Soto-Mayor, on Sept. 18, saying everyone was fine and he was unable to talk as they were sleeping.
Once police entered the family apartment, they found Elvira dead on the bathroom floor with multiple stab wounds and a butcher knife stuck in her chest, while Cesar, 9, lay dead in the bathtub.
According to News.com.au, the Clark County Coroner announced the two died of stab wounds to the chest.
Adrian was nowhere to be found and was initially thought to be a victim, however, on Sept. 23, police named him as the prime suspect in the murders.
Henderson Police spokesperson Keith Paul told the Times that it appears Adrian acted alone in the crime.
“We are doing everything possible to find him,” he added.
According to CBS 8, Adrian’s aunt told police he had been violent with his mother in the past.
Henderson police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Adrian Navarro-Canales to call 702-267-4750 or to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
