The handwritten note was specific.

“Give me all the cash in your drawer and do not give me any dye packs or trackers, and you have less than 45 seconds."

That was the content of the note given to a PNC Bank teller when the branch in Atlanta was robbed Monday morning, according to Atlanta police. But the teller disobeyed one detail.

Still, the robber was already on the run when he discovered that.

Around 9:15 a.m., officers responded to the branch at 75 5th St. regarding a hold up alarm, police spokeswoman Ms. Elizabeth Espy said.

By the time officers arrived robber had fled the bank with money and the note.

A lookout was broadcasted over radio and the air and ground units responded to search for the suspect.

“Midtown Blue was able to see the suspect run north on Peachtree Street, but lost sight,” Ms. Espy said.

Georgia Tech police said their cameras showed the suspect drop the money on Spring Street almost near the Biltmore when the dye pack exploded.

The suspect, who was wearing a Green hat with yellow writing on it, returned to pick up the money and then fled east on Biltmore towards West Peachtree Street.

He was also wearing a black hoodie and black slacks or jeans, with black shoes and white soles, Ms. Espy said.
