Police say three suspects arrested in LA Nordstrom robbery, hostage standoff

On Jan. 13, 2013, three men suspects were arrested in connection with the armed robbery and hostage standoff that took place at a Los Angeles area mall only days before.

According to KABC 7, the Los Angeles Police Dept. confirmed the arrests, but did not offer further details regarding the case.

On Jan. 10, police received a call at around 11 p.m., saying a robbery was taking place at the Nordstrom Rack located in the Promenade at Howard Hughes Center, reports the Los Angeles Times.

SWAT officers surrounded the mall and shortly after 2 a.m., 14 employees—13 female and one male—were found in a storage room and a bathroom.

NineMSN.com reported that one woman was sexually assaulted during the incident, while another individual was stabbed, but did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

The Times reports that not long after officers arrived on scene, a white Ford Explorer sped out of the parking garage at a high rate of speed.

Initially it was reported that two men were suspected of the crimes.
