Chicago police have released a set of photos regarding a pair of recent crimes in the downtown area in hopes people will come forward with information leading to arrests.
The first case is a hit and run accident in which two pedestrians were seriously hurt. It happened Tuesday night at 7:15 p.m. when witnesses tell police a silver Mitsubishi Montero Sport 4-door SUV struck the victims as they crossed State near Monroe.
The SUV had an Illinois license plate reading X765013. It was last seen speeding away southbound on State. See the slideshow for a photo of a vehicle similar to the one involved in the accident.

In another case, police want help finding two suspects who used a chemical spray to attack customers during the robbery of a North State Street store on Jan.11.
According to an alert just released, one of the robbers entered the store in the early evening and sprayed what investigators believe was pepper spray into the faces of three customers. The other suspect stood guard near the front door.
The cashier fled to the back of the store while one of the suspects tried unsuccessfully to open the locked cash register. As he was leaving the store, police say he sprayed another customer and went through that person's pockets.
The first offender is described as a while male, 20 - 35 years old, 5' 8" - 6'00" tall, weighing 150 - 180 pounds. He was wearing a knit hat and a navy blue jacket over a green hooded sweatshirt.
The second offender is a white male, 25-35 years old, 5'7"- 6'00", weighing 190 - 220 lbs and having a stocky build. He was wearing a tan vest over a black jacket and white gloves. See the slide show for enlarged images from the store's surveillance cameras.
