Police officer's puppy, personal items and uniforms stolen from home

Stolen pup
Durham Police Dept.

According to Wednesday's News Observer, a Durham, N.C., police officer's home was targeted by a burglar yesterday and the thief got away with the officer's puppy, and several other items, including "a few" police uniforms.

Whoever broke into the home, ignored the officer's gun, badge and radio, but they did steal jewelry and some electronics. Now that a criminal is in possession of official police uniforms, residents in the area are being advised to ask for identification if they are approached by a Durham police officer.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Investigator J. Walsh at 919-560-4582, ext. 29248, or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.
