A Malverne woman was arrested Monday night on felony assault charges after she allegedly punched a police officer in the face during an arrest for violating a court order, Nassau County police said.

Elissa Stallkamp, 36, was to be arraigned Jan. 7 after being charged with second-degree assault, second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.

Stallkamp was being arrested Monday night by Malverne police officers for allegedly being intoxicated, a violation of a Family Court order against her, according to a news release.

The Malverne cops called for a Nassau County police officer to assist in searching Stallkamp, but when the female officer arrived and began the search, police said Stallkamp punched her in the face numerous times.

A police news release said the unidentified officer suffered facial injuries and was treated and alter released from a local hospital.

Stallkamp was due to appear Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
