Quick work by Boston police helped them nab fleeing suspects in two separate incidents, including a stabbing incident in the downtown area.
On Monday night, officers from District A-1 were patrolling the area of Beach Street and Surface Road and were approached by a man in his late 20s suffering from a stab wound. The officers called for an ambulance which transported the patient to Massachusetts General Hospital where it was determined he was suffering from life-threatening injuries but he is expected to survive.
The victim said he was a walking along Lincoln St. when he was approached and confronted by a group of individuals and was stabbed. He said he observed the suspects enter two separate vehicles and flee the area.
Officers broadcast a description of both vehicles over all channels and a short time later received a call from Roxbury officers who observed a vehicle matching the description of one of the vehicles. They stopped the vehicle and discovered four suspects inside. While searching the suspects, they discovered a knife on one of the suspects that appeared to have blood on it.
They arrested Angel Ruiz, 24, of Boston and charged him with assault with intent to murder and assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
On Saturday, police from East Boston’s District A-7 received a call concerning two men using a U-Haul to steal metal from a work yard belonging to White Marine Inc. A witness told police that two men driving the truck broke into the yard and began stealing custom galvanized steel. The value of the steel was placed at approximately $5,000.
A description of the suspect and their vehicle were broadcast over police radio and in a short time they learned that Chelsea Police has stopped a U-Haul truck matching the description on Marginal St. A search of the truck’s cargo found it contained galvanized steel.
Bryan Narbonne, 27, of Braintree and Brandon Ferris, 27, of Boston were both charged with larceny, breaking and entering of a non-residence and willful and malicious destruction of property.
