Dina Lohan, the mother of actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested Thursday night in Oyster Bay after she was allegedly speeding on the Northern State Parkway and then found to be drunk behind the wheel, New York State Police said in announcing her arrest.
Lohan was pulled over around 11 p.m. on Sept. 12 along the Northern State Parkway near Oyster Bay after a state trooper reportedly clocked her traveling 77 mph in a 55 mph zone, cops said.
Lohan, 50, of Merrick, was “found to be intoxicated” when she was interviewed by the trooper, a news release said. After submitting to a portable breath test, investigators found her blood-alcohol content to be .20 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
When she was brought to the State Police barracks in Farmingdale, Lohan reportedly “made an allegation that she was injured during the course of the arrest,” authorities said. An ambulance was called to the police facility, but Lohan “recanted her claim” when emergency personnel arrived and found her to have no injuries, state police said.
Police charged her with DWI and aggravated driving while intoxicated. She was additionally issued a traffic summons for speeding. After being processed, Lohan was released to “a sober third party.”
She is due to appear Sept. 24 at Nassau First District Court in Hempstead for arraignment on the charges.
