Police are investigating a late Tuesday night shooting at a motel and seeking information on any suspects, according to a news release from the Jackson Police Department.
The release said around 11:51 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a shooting at Days Inn, located at 1919 U.S. 45 Bypass. The investigation revealed that a man and woman, who were both 21-year-old Jackson residents, were sitting in an SUV. They were parked on the west side (back side) of the motel. A dark-colored sedan followed them onto the parking lot. A man got out of the car, approached the SUV and shot into it multiple times. He then ran north.
The woman was struck twice in the arm and the man was injured by shattered glass, the release said. They were transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, and both were treated and released.
The release said police are searching for a dark-colored, 2000's model Nissan Altima or Maxima in connection with this shooting. The shooter was described as a black male, dressed in a dark-colored hoodie with a white shirt underneath and blue jeans.
