Whitehall police are investigating a shooting in the early morning hours of September 11 at the Paradise Sheesha Lounge, located at 1121 S. Hamilton Rd. in Columbus, Ohio. The shooting happened inside the bar, according to witnesses.
The reason for the shooting was not immediately known. According to Fox News, the unidentified victim was shot twice, once in the abdomen and once in the back. When officers arrived to investigate they discovered the victim lying on the floor inside the bar. He was transported to Grant Medical Center for treatment.
The shooter fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators are hoping that surveillance cameras at a bank, located next door to the Paradise Sheesha Lounge, may have captured images of the suspect. They plan to review footage from the bank cameras.
The September 11 shooting is not the only recent incident at the bar. In July, 2013, officers were called to the same bar to investigate a complaint from a man who was robbed and beaten by several people outside the Paradise Sheesha Lounge. ThisWeek Community News says that security officers used mace on several people involved in the incident before Whitehall police arrived on the scene.
The 27 year-old man, who had been struck in the head numerous times, did manage to find his wallet that had been stolen, but $80 had been taken from it.
