Police on Thursday said they believe they know who chased and fatally shot a man near Cumberland Mall over the weekend.
But they have not yet provided a motive for the shooting, which investigators don’t believe was random.
Officers have issued a warrant for Mr. Rosano Wensly Bundel, 28, of Douglasville in the murder of Mr. George B. Tabetano, Cobb County police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
Investigators said Mr. Tabetano and another man were fighting Sunday night in Macy's parking lot at 1000 Cumberland Blvd. when the man pulled out a gun.
He chased down Mr. Tabetano in the road while firing multiple shots at the fleeing victim, Sgt. Pierce said.
The shooter then took off and left Mr. Tabetando in the middle of the road to die shortly after 8 p.m., Sgt. Pierce said.
After shooting the victim, the gunman fled the area in what was described as a brown, charcoal or gray BMW.
Emergency workers transported Mr. Tabetando to Emory Adventist Hospital where the 29-year-old Powder Springs man died as a result of his injuries.
Anyone with information on Mr. Bundel is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit directly at (770) 499-3945.
