Police identify Jamieon Chatman as suspect in Slidell shooting

Police have identified Jamieon Chatman, 22, as the suspect in the Slidell shooting on Dec. 26, 2013, according to WWL TV.

A verbal altercation after a Christmas party escalated into Chatman shooting into a crowd of people outside of Shooter's Bar killing Mark Womack, 23, and Errol Scott, 22. Six others were injured and taken to area hospitals.

Chatman is wanted on two counts of second-degree murder and six counts of attempted second-degree murder.

U.S. Marshals and Slidell police are searching for Chatman and say "anyone caught assisting Jamieon Chatman will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Anyone with information is asked to call Slidell police at 985-643-3131 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

According to a press release from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, Jamieon Chatman has a prior record. He was arrested on Sept. 21, 2013, for criminal mischief, illegal carrying of weapons, contempt of court and another unknown charge.
