A 20-year-old man, who was found dead in the middle of a Marietta street earlier this week, was identified Friday.

But police still don’t know who struck him and left him to die on I-75.

Mr. Selvin Lopez-Lorenzo, of Woodstock, was attempting to cross the interstate when he was struck by an unknown type of vehicle, according to Marietta police.

“The initial on scene investigation revealed that the victim’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” police spokesman Officer David Baldwin has said.

Around 10:30 p.m. officers responded to I-75 at Delk Road after getting a call about a person down in the middle of the northbound lanes of the interstate, Officer David Baldwin said.

When they arrived they found Mr. Lopez-Lorenzo already dead at the scene.

So far, police said they have no witnesses or suspect in the incident. There was also no description of the vehicle involved.

Anyone with any information into this crash is asked to contact Officer Stephen Miller at (770) 794-5356.
