A Canton man was shot to death Monday evening inside an Alpharetta home, and police said they have one witness who saw the shooting.
Still, as of late Tuesday afternoon, no one has been charged in the deadly shooting that happened in the normally peaceful town home community of Whitestone Ridge.
At 6:24 p.m. a man called 911 to report that he had just witnessed a shooting, according to Alpharetta police.
Officers and emergency crews responded to a townhouse where they found the 22-year-old man who had been shot once in the lower abdomen, police spokesman Mr. George Gordon said.
The victim was taken to North Fulton Hospital, where he later died.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as Mr. Zachary Rose. Police are still trying to determine the identity of the suspect.
It was also unclear what prompted the deadly shooting.
But despite the sudden outbreak of violence, one resident told CBS Atlanta she still feels safe in the normally peaceful community.
"I'm not personally concerned at all, I feel comfortable, safe," said Ms. Cheryl Zellner, who said she has lived in the community for 13 years. "I don't think we have anything to worry about. I think (the suspect) knew who he was looking for, and why he was there."
