Nancy Roth, 54, of 62 Randall Ave., was arraigned Oct. 6 and ordered held on $1,000 bail. According to court records, she was arraigned in a hospital bed after being charged with second-degree burglary. It was not clear why she was hospitalized.
Police said Roth entered the locked room of her 53-year-old housemate. Once inside the victim’s living space, she allegedly stole his television and then brought it to a local pawnshop. Authorities did not detail the value of the item in a news release.
Detectives said they recovered the television at the unidentified store and then returned it to the victim. Investigators found Roth on Saturday at the Merrick Car Wash on Sunrise Highway. She was arrested without incident.
Online court records show Roth will face a judge again on Oct. 9.
