A person believed to be fugitive and ex L.A. police officer Chris Dorner is said to have exchange gunfire with local law enforcement as he fled a home he had reportedly burglarized.
According to an un-named source Dorner who is wanted for three murders and has been reported to have burglarized a local resident and tied up its two occupancies.
One of the occupancies was able to get free and call the police. As the police arrived on the scene, the burglar who is suspected to have been Dorner fled in a stolen vehicle. During the escape, the police and the suspect exchange gunfire.
Two law enforcement officers are being airlifted to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Dorner is wanted in the connection to the murder of former police Captains daughter and her spouse. In a manifesto posted on face book, Dorner vowed to bring "warfare" to Los Angeles police and their family members.
A disgruntled former Police Officer Dorner, 6-foot, 270-pounder was fired after filing a false police report accusing his training officer of abusing a mentally challenged suspect.
In his ranting manifesto, Doner an African American said his dismissal stemmed from racism and from him trying to do the right thing.
