An East Islip man has been taken into police custody and will be charged with felony reckless endangerment for allegedly shooting at a home and a car in the Islip area, Suffolk County police said Wednesday.

Kyle Rowlinson, 24, has been charged with two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and is expected to face a judge later Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip for arraignment.

Police say Rowlinson is being charged in connection with two incidents that occurred late Monday night into Tuesday morning. In one of those instances, a home on Keswick Drive in East Islip was struck by gunfire. During the second incident, according to investigators, a 2004 Saturn that was parked on Manhasset Street in Islip Terrace was damaged by separate gunfire.

Detectives are continuing to investigate after two other homes – in Great River and North Great River – were also struck with a barrage of bullets in the overnight hours. As of Wednesday afternoon, Rowlinson had not been charged in those incidents.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shootings to call Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8352 or anonymously call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
