A search warrant was issued for a home located in the 1700 block of Palm Avenue in Ontario, Calif. in connection with a missing Laguna Hills man after leads led the authorities to the home's occupants.
Oscar Javier Contreras Escobar, 29, a truck driver, was last seen in Victorville, Calif around 6:30 a.m. He had just arrived in town after a long haul from the East Coast. Between 7-9 a.m., Oscar was dropped off in Fontana near Foothill Blvd. and Mango Street by a friend so he could meet up with another friend. He has not been seen since. His family reported him missing a few days later.
Police had noted suspicious ATM transactions on Oscar's bank accounts after he went missing, said investigator Don Voght of the Orange County Sheriff's Department and they believed he may have been the victim of foul play.
Following a search of the home's interior on Wednesday, three people in the home, were taken away in handcuffs, but later released, reports the OC Register. Police started digging in the back yard on Thursday. Cadaver dogs were brought in and as of late afternoon, the investigation was still ongoing at the home. Authorities plan to continue searching in the homes back yard on Friday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department at 714-647-7055 or 714-628-7170.
