Authorities on Tuesday denied allegations made by troubled actress Amanda Bynes on Twitter. Bynes, who was arrested last week on drug possession charges, as well as for tampering with evidence (throwing a bong out of her window), tweeted
I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me. He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious. He slapped my vagina. Sexual harassment.
NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul J. Browne said:
Investigators have found no evidence to corroborate Ms. Bynes' allegations.
To the contrary, a credible civilian witness who was with the officers throughout told investigators that none touched Ms. Bynes inappropriately or otherwise engaged in misconduct at any time.
Bynes promised to sue the NYPD. In addition, visual evidence (a photo) seemed to show the shattered remains of a bong on a third floor sub-roof beneath Bynes' apartment.
In addition, a TMZ producer personally checked out the "evidence." While Bynes said she threw a vase out of her window, not a bong, the producer said the scattered remnants didn't appear to be a vase to him.
However, a building employee said that when they first investigated the Bynes incident, police didn't examine the sub-roof. The report said that police will examine the remains later on Tuesday.
On Thursday evening, police responded to a call from Bynes' doorman claiming that the troubled actress had allegedly been smoking pot in the lobby of her building. By the time that police arrived, she had already returned to her apartment.
When police arrived at her door, Bynes opened up, and police report that they saw a bong -- for a short period. After Bynes opened the door, an officer entered the apartment and saw a bong on the kitchen counter. When he asked Amanda about the bong, Bynes took action.
From the police report: "I observed [Amanda] grab said bong, run to the westbound-facing window, and throw it out the window where numerous pedestrians were walking on the 8 Avenue and West 47 Street sidewalks below."
