Police in Florida are avoiding speculating about what happened in the hours before the crash that injured Tiger Woods early on Friday, November 27, and they say they plan to release 911 tapes on the case on Sunday.
The National Enquirer published a story alleging that Woods was having an affair with New York events planner Rachel Uchitel. She is strongly denying the story.
TMZ.com is reporting that Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, fought with Woods before the crash after she confronted him about the alleged affair. TMZ says the injuries Woods sustained on his face were from Nordegren, not from the accident.
Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes told the Associated Press, "Right now we believe this is a traffic crash. We don't believe it is a domestic issue."
Montes added the the Highway Patrol "trying not to get on the rumor mill."
