A Kenya native was found shot to death inside his Sandy Springs apartment and more than three weeks later, police are still working to identify a possible suspect.

Mr. Eric Chepkuto, 36, was found dead on Dec. 28 inside his Circa 400 apartment in the 8100 block of Colquitt Road, according to the Sandy Springs police.

Mr. Chepkuto’s wife found him in the couple’s bedroom around 8 a.m. when she returned home from work, police spokesman Capt. Steve Rose said Monday. Mr. Chepkuto had been shot in the head.

The homicide remains under investigation, and police have not yet identified any suspects.

“Detectives are still interviewing a number of people connected to the couple and awaiting results from forensics tests on evidence taken from the scene,” Capt. Rose said in an emailed statement.

His wife told Channel 2 Action News that there was no forced entry to the home and that shooter maybe someone he knew.

Mr. Chepkuto had lived in the Atlanta area since 1998 and planned to return to his native country later this year, according to media reports.
