The Daily Mail reported a story about David Oliver, 45, the police chief of Ohio’s Brimfield Police. On Thursday, he posted an open letter on the department’s Facebook page to Kanye West. Using creativity and humor, he addressed rapper Kanye West’s comments that a rapper’s job compares to being a soldier in combat or a police officer. The story went viral and has made Oliver an Internet sensation.
Oliver uses the department Facebook to reprimand criminal. The page is so popular it has nearly 100,000 followers. In his letter he states:
“I want to thank you for putting your life on the line for all of us every day. I know that being a rapper is tough work. I have tried to rap, and it is very difficult to keep up with the pulse of the rhyme flow,” says Oliver. He also says that “if you rap really fast, without a chance to inhale, you could pass out and hit your head.'”
Oliver finishes the letter telling Kanye West to “Check himself before he wrecks himself.”
