The man believed to be responsible for intentionally starving a Cane Corso, named "Queenie," has been charged with animal cruelty.
According to Saturday's Long Island News, the man believed to be responsible for Queenie's shocking condition is Michael Faulkner of Coram, N.Y.
Queenie was allegedly discovered by Faulkner's ex-wife just a week ago. The dog weighed less than half of what she should, and was near death at the time of her discovery.
It is alleged that Faulkner intentionally locked the dog in a room of his house and deprived her of food and water in a spiteful act of revenge against his ex-wife.
The organization, Guardians of Rescue , helped rescue Queenie and ensured that she received emergency veterinary care. Since the dog's discovery, she has been recuperating at Grady Animal Hospital in Sayville where she is making a remarkable recovery.
