According to the Fresno Bee, a man in Fresno, Calif., has been arrested for allegedly hitting a woman who was holding a baby, as well as for assaulting a police canine.
Early Tuesday morning, police were called out to a home in southeast Fresno to witness a child custody exchange - when they arrived, they observed 31-year-old Jonathan Alexander hit a woman who was holding a baby.
The officers sent their police canine, "Tico," into the home after Alexander ran inside to hide. Tico located Alexander in the attic of the home and the man proceeded to assault the dog - hitting him in the face and head several times.
Tico was taken to a veterinarian - he was later given the okay to return to duty.
The woman who was assaulted sustained minor injuries and the baby was unharmed. Alexander is facing multiple charges, including domestic violence, child endangerment, and assault on a police dog.
