Fort Worth Police arrested three people in the last week involving the trafficking of a minor. February 28 a press conference was held that gave some details of the case. The victim was a 17 year old minor originally from San Antonia. Two people were arrested for trafficking of a minor while one suspect was arrested for the solicitation of a minor for prostitution.
Nyokolus Hunter who is 26, and Gabriel M. Walker age 19, were arrested on warrants for trafficking of persons. A third man, 26-year-old Orlando Dion Verge, was also arrested for online solicitation of a minor in connection with the case. The 17 year-old girl made a outcry to local detectives which started the investigation.
The minor met Hunter and Walker on a online social network called Mocospace. She had been in the area for the last two weeks at the South Loop Inn Motel, in the 6000 block of South Freeway.
Sgt Deven Pitt with the FWPD said “The basics were you come up here and some arrangements were made for her to work off rent and things of that nature,” the Sgt also told the press “We do believe there are other victims out there,”. “We are still investigating.”
While the FWPD and the North Texas Task Force Against Human Trafficking are doing their job they also urged parents to watch there children online and in social networks to make sure that they are keeping their children safe.
