Police arrest Flavor Flav as he's going to his mother's funeral

Rapper/reality star Flavor Flav, real name William Drayton, was arrested in Hempstead N.Y. for speeding on January 9, 2014. According to Rolling Stone, Flavor was going 79 mph in a 55 mph zone. When police pulled him over, they found some marijuana. Upon running his plates, they discovered that he has 16 current suspended license violations.

The New York State Police website report that Flavor was arrested for Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana(Violation), and traffic violations.

Flavor was hurrying to attend his mother's funeral. Anna Drayton passed away on New Year's Eve. Flavor tweeted, "Hey everybody I just lost my mother Anna Drayton thismorning newyears eve she passed away and I'm gonna miss her. She lived good a good life."

The police released Flavor to attend his mother's funeral, but he needs to return for court. His court date is set for January 28, 2014 at the Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead.

According to Rolling Stone, Flavor Flav has been arrested numerous times in Las Vegas and New York. Driving violations include no proof of insurance, parking violations and driving with a suspended license. In New York, he allegedly assaulted his fiancé and a teenager with a knife. His court date was September 30, 2013, but apparently no follow up on the trial has been released.
