Police arrest Anthony Sowell suspect in Ohio murder of six people

The police arrested Anthony Sowell around noon today in Cleveland, Ohio; Sowell, 50 is a suspect in the murders of six people whose bodies were found in his house Thursday and Friday.

A month ago, Anthony Sowell was accused of rape and felonious assault, an arrest warrant was issued for Sowell and then a search warrant for his house. On Thursday, the police entered his house and found several decomposed bodies. During the past few days, the police uncovered six bodies. Two bodies were on the third floor of the house, one was buried under stairs in the basement, two were found in a crawl space, and the sixth body was found outside.

The bodies have yet to be identified, but they have determined that two of the victims were female African-Americans. The coroner has the bodies now.

In 1989, Sowell was convicted of rape and spent 15 years in prison.

The families of missing women in the Cleveland area have gathered around the house hoping to discover if their missing relative is one of the victims.

The police said that Sowell collected junk and sold it to the junkyard to make money.  The police are continuing the search today.

In a similar case in 2007, two men in Utah went missing for over a month until their bodies were discovered buried under a shed in a shallow grave. The entire area was surrounded with junk that the owner collected. The police suspected a registered sex offender, Martin Nelson that was already in jail at the time the bodies were found. Nelson has been convicted of the two men's deaths.  Another young man disappeared around the same time, and it was suspected that Nelson was also responsible for his disappearance.

Update: the coroner released information Sunday morning, click here for the story.

Serial murdering is a white crime so this is very specious. Stay strong Anthony. The truth will come out God willing.

The bottom part of the article gives speculation about other murders and the name of a suspect. What kind of reporting is this? Guesses and speculation are not enough to publicly make such a statement. We don't wait on courts to pass judgment anymore. Someone is guilty because I say so isn't good enough in an investigation and this is certainly a breach of ethics that should be countered with charges being brought. If law enforcement is so lacking in credibility, and if it takes a month to follow through on search and arrest warrants, one has to wonder what else these professionals are screwing up.

They should check every single place where Mr Sowell ever lived. My guess is these 6 bodies are just the tip of the iceberg.

To the person saying serial killing is a white crime -- for the most part, it is a white male-on-white crime. However, there are a number of known Black serial killers, such as Wayne Williams. Also, there is a Los Angeles Black male serial killer from over a wide span of years starting in the 70s that has never been caught. There are others, too. I suspect there are more but they are less likely to get caught because the police/society tend to care less about Black victims, especially if they were prostitutes.

"Muhammad and Malvo are suspects in eight other murders across the country."

So perhaps because they are black they should get off?

Muhammed wants to waive appeals and get his execution over with.

    Good riddance holmes!
