Polar Bears face District 5 in 2010 USA Ultimate Mixed Club Championship final

California-based Polar Bears will battle District 5, a mixed club ultimate Frisbee team from New Haven, Conn., in the final of the 2010 USA Ultimate Mixed Club Championship tournament.

The tournament, held in Sarasota, Fla, spans from Oct. 28 to Oct. 31. The championship game will be held Sunday, Oct. 31.

The Polar Bears, who came into the tournament seeded seventh, won their pool in the first round of group play, going 3-0, then took second in the second round of pool play, going 2-1.

The team beat Overhaul 15-7 in the quarterfinals and triumphed over Chad Larson 15-12 in the semis.

District 5, originally seeded second, took second in the first round of pool play, going 2-1 and losing to the Polar Bears. The team then took third in the second round of pool play, going 1-2.

District 5 then beat Bucket 15-13 in the quarterfinals and defeated Dragn Thrust 14-12 in the semis.
