Poker champ arrested: 'Fossilman' involved in prostitution sting

A poker champ was arrested for his involvement in a prostitution sting. World Series of Poker champ, Grey Raymer, also known as "Fossilman," was arrested by police in North Carolina. On March 15, TMZ reported that Raymer was one of six men believed to have solicited to a prostitution sting online.

"Police say the 48-year-old poker legend was one of six men who responded to an advertisement posted by an undercover cop on a website frequented by male prostitutes. The men have since been released on $1,000 bond," TMZ reported. It was first reported that the prostitution ring involved males prostitutes but TMZ confirmed that the sting involved female prostitutes.

The poker champ was arrested at a hotel in Wake Forest, No. Carolina. Raymer is believed to be married, although many think that this latest arrest might turn his wife right off. Since winning the World Series of Poker in 2004, Raymer has won plenty of money playing poker -- which can't buy love but it can buy prostitutes. In 2012, Raymer won somewhere in the $7M range, and now people have an idea about what he likes to do with his money (assuming this wasn't his first rodeo).

"The locations prostitutes choose for this type of criminal activity vary and seldom remain the same for more than a couple of days at a time, which makes enforcement difficult,” Police Chief Jeffrey Leonard said in a statement (via Poker News).

The poker champ arrested will be in court on April 18 to face charges.
