The game is the first full 3D-Pokemon RPG on the 3DS and will also feature an entire new generation of Pokemon and mega evolutions of all-time favorites such as Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.
Those who picked up the game at the Nintendo World Store in New York City during a midnight launch today were also greeted by a live costume show, free hats of the starter Pokemon and “Pokemon X & Y” posters. Several 2DS and 3DS consoles were also made available for gamers to try the game before they purchased it.
Those who purchase the game at launch will also get the first opportunity to download a rare level 10 Torchic on the Nintendo Network that has a hidden ability speed boost that causes its speed to increase every turn. The Pokemon will also be holding the Blazikenite, the Mega Stone needed for Blaziken's Mega Evolution.
Launching the same day as "Pokemon X & Y" is the Nintendo 2DS system, the 2D counterpart to the 3DS and retails for $129.99
