If you watched the "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" trailer that was released Tuesday you may have noticed some of the new features and Pokemon characters revealed including two at the end that look rather legendary. Nintendo confirmed with us that these are the newest Legendary Pokémon for the Nintendo 3DS titles along with their names.
The deer-like Legendary Pokémon for "Pokémon X" is Xerneas (pronounced ZURR-nee-us). Meanwhile, the bird-like Legendary Pokémon for "Pokémon Y" is Yveltal (pronounced ee-VELL-tall). How the names are pronounced and spelled will be the same for all languages.
Details on what their special abilities were not revealed so feel free to speculate in our comment section below.
"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" will release simultaneously world-wide this October. This marks the first time that a Pokémon title will achieve this feat as localization efforts typically delay the North American and European release a couple of months after the Japanese release.
