‘Pokemon X’ and ‘Pokemon Y’ trading cards release date and more details revealed

More details have been revealed in regards to the new trading cards that will be based on the “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” video games. According to a report from Gaming Bolt on March 29, Nintendo is planning the “Flashfire” expansion for “Pokemon: Trading Card Game.”

The new set of cards will introduce mega evolutions with Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y and Mega Kangaskhan. More than two dozens pocket monsters from “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” are also going to be added with 15 of them appearing in card form for the first time.

Customers can purchase the new items in packs of 10 or by buying theme decks containing 60 cards. The “Flashfire” expansion is going to be made available for the “Pokemon: Trading Card Game” on May 7.

“Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” were launched by Nintendo on Oct. 12 of last year. The two video games have continued to sell well several months later as it recently surpassed 3.4 million copies sold in North America alone. As with the other releases in the series, Nintendo is using cross-promotion to bring the two handheld games to the movie, television and the aforementioned trading card game industries.
