The “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” tournament competition schedule has been revealed. According to a report from VG247 on April 2, Nintendo is planning to host several events over the next several months in order to determine the best competitive player.
Over 30 national championships will be held through various locations in six continents. For example, the United States event is going to take place in Indianapolis, Indiana, from July 4 to July 6. The winners are going to be invited to “Pokemon World Championships,” which will happen this year in Washington D.C. from Aug. 16 to Aug. 17. The trading card tournament will also be held at the same time and same locations.
The competition only supports the “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” video games. Some of the overpowering pocket monsters from both titles are also banned in order to encourage more balanced and strategic battles.
Nintendo launched the sixth main installment of the “Pokemon” franchise last autumn season in North America and other regions. In addition to adding dozens of new pocket monsters, the two handheld role-playing games also included a new fairy type as well as introduce the mega evolution concept.
