The latest issue of the Coro Coro Japanese magazine has revealed some of the changes in regards to the steel type in the upcoming Nintendo 3DS video game, “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.” According to a report by Bulba News on Sept. 11, the publication revealed that pocket monsters categorized as steel will no longer have advantages over several other types.
Game Freak, the company that is developing the “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y,” has removed the dark and ghost attacks resistance from steel-type pocket monsters. Using the aforementioned attacks will now damaged Honedge, Klinklang, Steelix and other creatures.
The Coro Coro Japanese magazine also provided more details for the newly-introduced fairy type. This particular set of pocket monsters is offensively effective against the dark, dragon and fighting types. However, their attacks will do little damage against fire, poison and the aforesaid steel creatures. In terms of defense, the fairy type is immune to dragon attacks while having strong resistance against the bug, dark and fighting pocket monsters. It is vulnerable against poison and steel attacks.
Players should be able to experience the new changes to the fairy and steel types when the two video games come out on Oct. 12.
