A new pocket monster has been teased for the upcoming “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y,” which are being released for the Nintendo 3DS later this year. According to a report from Siliconera on Sept. 5, the new creature appeared briefly in the latest episode of the Nintendo Direct video series.
The unmanned pocket monster resembles a big French poodle due to its puffy coat. Nintendo previously confirmed that “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” takes place in a fictional setting based on France. Perhaps the development team decided to further pay homage to the country with the newest pocket monster. You can check out the new creature, as well as other shots from the handheld role-playing games, in the slideshow near the top of this article.
The unnamed creature is seen fighting against the mega evolution form of Venusaur. Along with Blastoise and Charizard, the three original starters can now temporary transform during combat. Doing so will grant them better statistics and new abilities.
Nintendo should be providing more information on the poodle-like pocket monster and the new mega evolution feature in the next month before the launch of the two video games. “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 12 with a price tag of $39.99 each.
