To do so, you have to download and use two applications from the eShop, the “Pokemon Bank” and “Poke Transporter.” The first allows you to store up to 3,000 pocket monsters from “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.” The second gives players the opportunity to transfer creatures that were previously obtained in “Pokemon Black,” “Pokemon Black Version 2,” “Pokemon White” and “Pokemon White Version 2.”

Nintendo will be offering a free 30-day trial by Jan. 31, 2014, for the “Pokemon Bank” and “Poke Transporter.” Afterwards, an annual fee of $4.99 is required to use the applications. Players that use the two by Sept. 30, 2014, are going to receive Celebi as a free gift.

The rare creature, which features grass and physic properties, debuted with the second generation of video games from the series with “Pokemon Gold,” “Pokemon Silver” and “Pokemon Platinum.”

“Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y,” both of which launched on Oct. 12, are part of the sixth generation. You can find a few screens of the two new games in the slideshow to the left of this article.
