A new mini-game has been revealed for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS releases, “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.” As reported by Serebii on Sept. 7, the latest episode of the “Pokemon Smash” television show showcased a new gameplay sequence from the Super Training mode of the two handheld role-playing games.
The new “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” mini-game resembles dodge ball. Players will be taking on a giant Magneton pocket monster inside a large outdoor stadium. The goal is to hit various hot spots of the creature with soccer balls while dodging the incoming projectile attacks. The short clip shows Sylveon sitting on a floating platform battling against Magneton. At the end of the mini-game, Sylveon got a statistic boost of eight to its special attacks.
Nintendo previously confirmed that players will be able to use Super Training mode to build up several aspects of their pocket monster team. The feature provides an alternative method to customize the party team aside from the traditional level and experience point system.
“Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” are a part of the ongoing Nintendo Experience tour that is currently on the road. The two video games will be released in North America on Oct. 12 with an official price tag of $39.99.
