‘Pokemon X’ and ‘Pokemon Y’ animation premier date and more details revealed

Additional details have been revealed in regards to the animated television show based on the Nintendo 3DS video games, “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.” According to a report from Complex on Jan. 4, North American viewers can expect the first episode of the series to air later this month.

The “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” animated television show is set to premier on the Cartoon Network on Jan. 18. Similar to the previous seasons, the episodes will once again star Ash Ketchum as well as his partner, Pikachu. The antagonist group, Team Rocket, is also expected to return.

The new series does add some new elements, however, as the characters will be traveling across the fictional Kalos region from the handheld role-playing games. Ash Ketchum should meet new individuals along with encountering the region-specific pocket monsters.

The “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” television series began airing in Japan on Oct. 17th of last year. 11 episodes have been released so far with many more being planned.

The video games were released in multiple regions on Oct. 12. The latest installments of the “Pokemon” series introduce mega evolution transformations along with new creatures and other gameplay elements. The “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” software products for the Nintendo 3DS were developed by Game Freak in addition to being published by Nintendo.
