Additional details have been revealed for the animated show based on the two upcoming video games “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.” According to a report by Serebii on Sept. 14, the latest episode of the “Pokemon Smash” variety show featured a preview of the newest cartoon series for the gaming franchise.
Ash Ketchum, the main character behind the previous “Pokemon” animated shows, will be returning in the “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” series. He will be traveling the Kalos region with Bonnie and Clemont, the two siblings. The latter is also a gym leader. Moreover, Ash Ketchum was also shown interacting with two more gym leaders from the upcoming video games: Serena and Viola.
Although the main antagonist from “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” won’t be from Team Rocket, the trio of James, Jessie and Meowth will be making appearances in the new animated series as well. Finally, Garchomp and Mega Blaziken were also shown off during the preview.
The new animated series will begin airing in Japan on Oct. 17, which is five days after the launch of the “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” video games in multiple regions (including North America) around the world.
