Pokémon Rumble U costs $17.99 on the Wii U eShop and includes 649 Pokémon characters in-game which can be upgraded with coins collected in the game. Players can unlock even more powerful Pokémon by purchasing toy figures for the game from their local GameStop at $3.99 each. The first wave of 18 NFC figures include Pikachu, Victini, Deoxys (Normal Forme), Eevee, and Genesect and will allow players to change moves as well as special traits.
It will be interesting to see how Pokémon Rumble U performs as its release is sandwiched between the much more hyped Disney Infinity and Skylanders SWAP Force. Limiting the toy figures to sale only at GameStop instead of major toy retailers like Toys R Us is a decision that is hard to puzzle out as well.
Meanwhile, The Legend of Zelda, is now available on the Wii U Virtual Console for $4.99. Originally released in 1986, this is Link's first adventure to reunite pieces of the Triforce and stop the evil wizard Ganon's plans. The Wii U version allows playing the game on the GamePad or on the TV.
